Slack

The Upriver app helps you stay on top of your data quality by detecting incidents and instantly notifying your team in Slack. When an issue is detected, a short summary will be sent to your chosen Slack channel, allowing for quick response and resolution.

Connecting Upriver to Slack

Follow these steps to integrate Upriver with Slack and start receiving notifications:

Step 1: Click "Connect"

1. Go to Settings > Integrations section in Upriver.

2. Click the "Connect" button.

Step 2: Grant Permissions

1. You will be redirected to Slack's authorization page.

2. Review the required permissions.

3. Click "Allow" to enable Upriver to send messages to your workplace.

Checking the Connection

Once connected, you can verify the setup by sending a test message:

1. Click "Test Slack Connection".

2. Enter your Slack Channel ID in the provided field.

   1. If the channel is private, you must invite the Upriver bot to the channel manually.

      In Slack, type:

      /invite @Upriver

      

3. Click "Send" to confirm the integration.

4. You will recieve a Welcome Message shortly after.

Configuring Notifications in Your Datasource

To ensure Upriver sends alerts to the right Slack channel:

1. Go to the desired Datasource.

2. Click "Edit".

3. In "Advanced Settings > Notifications" enter the Slack Channel ID.

4. Click "Update".

Disconnecting Upriver from Slack

If you no longer want to receive Slack notifications:

1. Go to Settings > Integrations section in Upriver.

2. Click the "Disconnect" button.

3. Confirm the action to remove Upriver from your workspace.
